Mass Media, one of our last century's achievements, enabled the creation of psychological warfare, which was used as barrage to soften the enemy's lines. Nobel Prize Laureate for peace Mr.Yassir Arafat, has used this means in most effective ways. When asked last week "If he truly believes to defeat Israel? He answered. "By now - many Israelis understand and believe us and in time there will be more. So time is on our side and eventually we will reach our goal."

The question we ask is; "Did Arafat fool Israel? Or are Israelis - who believed in him - fooled themselves?" The 'peace now' movement, which is an admirable goal, fell victim to a psychological warfare. Last week, Mr.Shimon Peres, the noble fighter for peace, had to call the best of his followers to acknowledge reality. The curtain, which was decorated with graffiti of lies came down and the full stage became visible. The old cry of "Itbach el Jahud," - "Slaughter the Jews," was heard from the Arab pulpits and resonated in the streets with rocks, fire and guns.

The tactic during the peace process was to take land from Israel - always wanting more. Nothing what the Palestinians received was big enough, good enough, fast enough and with constant complaints, made Israel appear as "intransigent." Eventually the world and even some Jews started to believe it. The demands were always pressing, but only limited to the next cut. This spoonful of medication approach hid the real and final goal.

And now, after having achieved the maximum of every decent and realistic person's expectations, the truth popped up. The real goal - to destroy Israel! In a special proclamation the Arabs confirmed the sacred right of four million refugees to return to Israel. What sacred right, to any country in the world - would the Jews have to go to? Expelled by the Arabs - if not killed - where should they go??

It is time for Israel to come to the conclusion, that by giving in to black-mailers, the coveted peace will never realize.

According to Israel's rights, according to United Nations decision # 242, Israel has to withdraw to secure borders. Borders, fences and strict partition have to be instated. Israel may send the Palestinians congratulations for their new state. A state, a country, a neighbor - who can live in peace with Israel or face reactions as any normal nation is entitled to. At the present situation, only the Palestinians may attack and Israel's reactions have to be restrained. This has to stop. And with two independent states, clear international laws will take hold.

It is absurd for Israel to have the land and to beg the Arabs to take it in exchange for peace. Any prize can not buy peace or love.

The reality of strict borders will achieve what no psychological war could have. A psychological re-tooling of the Palestinian mind by education for tolerance and decency - these are the goals. In between, strict partition has to enable Israel to protect itself.
